The MC command center has an option to manipulate sims' career. Pokemon sacred gold documentation. Maybe not to change it but at least you can promote them to a higher lvl. Mc Command Center
- Oh, good question. I want to know this too. My sim is on her way to the top of the Master of Real, but I also want to try Patron of the Arts.

Unfortunately, in the current setup if you quit your job and restart it'll put you right back at 5th level of Master of the Real. - That's unfortunate. I really like how easy it is to change your mind in this game and try something new. I'd hate to have to start all over to try the other branch.
- Being a completionist, I feel like this is kind of annoying that you can't change career branches. I want to unlock everything there is to unlock and I want to get all of the achievements and if I can't get to my 100%, then I'm going to be highly disappointed. It wouldn't be so bad if these things were unlocked, no matter what family you played.
- whats the difference between master of the real and patron of the arts?0
- Unfortunately from what I am inding out, it looks like these 'locked' items only get unlocked for the family that unlocks them. If you start a new game game or family, you would need to unlock them all over again. This is something that is really irritating me.1
- edited September 2014See my post here. Not the most elegant solution, but it works if you really want to change branches at the cost of losing your non-household relationships, simoleons and items. Simply put, save your family and start a new game. Unlocks will be retained.
- it's easy. simply use your family to unlock them all. example for culinary career. husband can climb up from chef branch and wife can works herself from mixology branch. apply that to all careers, then you'll unlock everything, eventually.
- I have the same problem, my sim is Level 10 Boss (The Boss) in Criminal career, and when i'd like to switch branches as I did in TS3 just by quitting the job and starting at the Level 5 of any career and switch it by earning a one simple promotion to unlock the branches, but now in TS4, my Level 10 Boss sim starts over to job by Level 9 Boss, i'd like to switch to Oracle branch but I couldn't, I know that it is not that impossible, I just have to get demoted by not showing yourself in job, but it's just annoying though.. There should be at least Level 6 other branch option in the Find a Job menu
- You (all) didn't say whether you use mods or not, but if you're interested in trying one for this situation, here's this:

I haven't tried it (haven't needed to, queen of restarts, I am), but being from Scumbumbo, I'm sure it's wonderful. I do have several of his other mods in and everything is working beautifully.. for now. (knock on wood)

As of November 2018, does this mod still work? I can't get it to.
I installed it manually, and followed the exact steps I had to do. I even installed a couple CCs to test if I was doing things right. CCs loaded fine, but mod didn't. Am I doing something wrong, or does the mod not work with the latest patch? - edited November 2018@TheRunawayGirl The creator posted in the comments a few days ago saying it will take him quite a while to do an update, so the short answer to your question is 'No, not at the moment.'
MCCC (MC Command Center) mod lets you change career level, if you want to give it a whirl. It has been updated for the most recent game version. This post will be edited by StormKeep at some point.
The Winters family Chronicle - @Stormkeep I was taking a look at it, but I can't seem to find the exact command for it.
I'd really appreciate it if I could get a link to all the commands/get that specific command XP.
Thanks for the info, btw, regarding the mod. - @TheRunawayGirl With MCCC installed, click on a sim and select 'MC Command Center' to bring up the sim command menu. Then click 'MC Cheats'->'Career Cheats'. From there you can demote the sim, and reset the career branch. This post will be edited by StormKeep at some point.
The Winters family Chronicle - @Stormkeep I see. Thank you very much.
I'll be trying it today and get everything I ever wanted XD
